I could spend hours just looking through the Cricut Design Space, there is so much inspiration to be had and so many different projects!
Whilst scrolling through the Design Space one Saturday afternoon I found the 'Hexagon Quilt Card', a cute card designed to look like a quilt. As soon as I saw it I thought of my mum, she is loves sewing and has recently started quilting classes, and it is her birthday soon.
I decided to make the card using the First Edition Making Memories Paper Pad. This fun paper pad has quite a modern palette of pinks, purples and mint green with glitter accents. Adorned with beautiful hand lettering and elements including florals, hearts, love letters, and geometric patterns – it seemed perfect to create this Quilt Birthday Card.
Firstly I found the Quilt Card Design on Cricut Design Space (Hexagon Quilt Card) and then picked which patterns to choose. I choose 5 different patterns from the Making Memories paper pad and teamed these up with a lilac metallic card from the Dovecraft Mermaid & Unicorn pack.
Once I had resized the design to fit my card blank I started cutting out the shapes. Top Tip - Use double sided pattern paper where possible to give you more options when laying out the hexagons.
When everything was cut out I positioned these on the background card to figure out the positions and to move the patterns around, I then stuck these down using craft foam. To try and make it easier I stuck down all the edge pieces first then filled in the middle.
What is your favourite project in Cricut Design Space?
